Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) Training Schools (OCES /DGFS-2014) invites Engineering Graduates and Science Post Graduateswho enjoy pursuing innovative research in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Bio Sciences , Geology or Geophysics to apply for Recruitment as Scientific Officers (Group - A post of govt of India) through its Academic programs. Interested Candidates may apply via Online mode on or before 14th Feb, 2014. More detailed information such as eligibility criteria selection process, how to apply etc details is provided below.

Name of Post : Scientific Officers (Group A)
Name of Programmes : OCES-2014 and DGFS-2014
1. One year Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Post-Graduate for the year 2014-15 (OCES-2014) 
2. Two-year DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates and Physics Post- Graduates forthe years 2014-2016 (DGFS-2014)


Eligibility Criteria for Scientific Officer :

Age Limit : 
1. For General Category : Max age is 26 years.
2. For OBC Candidates : MAx age is 29 years.
3. For SC/ST Candidates : Max age is 31 years.


Qualifying Degree & other Academic Requirements for OCES/ DGFS-2014 :

1. For Engineering Disciplines : B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc (Engineering) / A.M.I.E. / A.M.I.E.T.E./A.M.I.I.Ch.E. with a minimum of 60%* aggregate marks in one of the engineering disciplines mentioned.

2. For Physics Discipline : M.Sc. in Physics / Applied Physics or B.E. / B.Tech. in Engineering Physics with a minimum of 60%* aggregate marks. M.Sc. applicants should have Physics and Mathematics up to B.Sc. or at subsidiary and / or ancillary level in case of five year integrated M.Sc., with a minimum of 60%* aggregate marks in M.Sc. as well as in B.Sc.

3. For Chemistry Discipline : M.Sc. in Chemistry with Physics up to B.Sc. or at subsidiary and / or ancillary level in case of five year integrated M.Sc. and Mathematics up to Std. XII, with minimum of 60% aggregate marks in M.Sc. as well as in B.Sc. 

4. For Bio Science Discipline : M.Sc. in Agriculture Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology,Biotechnology, Genetics, Botany, Zoology, Plant Science, Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Food Technology, Animal Science, Life Sciences and Bio sciences with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks; or B.E./ B.Tech. / B.Sc.(Tech) only in Food Technology with minimum of 60% aggregate marks. M.Sc. applicants should have Physics or Chemistry or Biochemistry or Agriculture Chemistry at the B.Sc. stage or at subsidiary and / or ancillary level in case of five year integrated M.Sc. with minimum of 60% aggregate marks in M.Sc. as well as in B.Sc. 

5. For Radiological Safety Engineering : M.Sc. in Physics or Chemistry with Physics and Chemistry up to B.Sc. or at subsidiary and / or ancillary level in case of integrated M.Sc., and Mathematics up to Std. XII, with minimum of 60%*aggregate marks in M. Sc. as well as in B. Sc.. Those having M.Sc. in Environmental Science are not eligible

6. For Geology Discipline : M.Sc. or equivalent M.Tech. in Geology / Applied Geology / Applied Geochemistry with Geology at B. Sc. and at least two subjects out of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry up to B.Sc. or at subsidiary and / or ancillary level in case of five year integrated M.Sc., with minimum of 60% aggregate marks in M.Sc. / M.Tech. as well as in B.Sc. Eligible candidates must have passed Mathematics at 10+2 level.

7. For Geophysics Discipline : M.Sc. in Geophysics / Applied Geophysics with Mathematics up to B.Sc. or at subsidiary and / or ancillary level in case of five year integrated M.Sc., with a min of 60% aggregate marks in M.Sc. as well as in B.Sc.


Note : Applicants opting to be considered on the basis of a GATE Score should have a valid GATE-2013 Score in various disciplines.


Selection Process : Selection to OCES/DGFS-2014 is a 2-step process .Screening to short-list candidates followed by Selection Interview of the Short-Listed Candidates. Screening for Selection Interview is based on 2 alternative methods :
1. Online Test 
2. GATE Score 


Application Fee : 
1. General & OBC Candidates need to pay Rs. 250/-.
2. SC/ST/PWD and woman Candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.


How to Apply : Candidates can register their application through Online mode on or before 14th February, 2014. Candidates have to enter all the details like name, mother’s name, date of birth, e-mail id and a preferred login id.

Date of Online Exam : 19th to 24th March, 2014
