As we know , every year Staff Selection Commission conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL ) Exam for recruiting the selected candidates to Non-Technical and Non-Gazette posts in various Departments. This year SSC will also conduct the SSC CGL Exam on 27th April, 2014 and 04th may, 2014.


We are providing the SSC CGL Syllabus 2014 for all those aspirants who wants to appear in CGL Exam. Here, we also mentioned SSC CGL 2014 Exam Pattern & CGL Tier I and Tier II Exam Schedule , so kindly read this informative blog carefully.


SSC CGL 2014 Exam Pattern : SSC CGL Exam will be held in 3 tiers as mentioned below :
1. Tier I : Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
2. Tier -II : Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type) 
3. Tier -III : Personality Test cum Interview/Computer Proficiency Test and Skill Test (wherever applicable) /Document Verification 


Note : There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Tier-I. In Tier-II, there will be negative marking of 0.25 marks in Paper-II and 0.50 marks in Paper-I and Paper-III for each wrong answer.

Note : Paper-I & II are compulsory for all the categories of posts . Paper-III is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Statistical Investigator Gr.II & Compiler. 


SSC CGL 2014 Syllabus : CGL Syllabus 2014 is different for Each Tier

CGL Tier I Syllabus : Tier I Syllabus covers the following parts :
1. General Inteeligence
2. General Awareness
3. Quantitative Aptitude
4. English Comprehension


CGL Tier II Syllabus : Tier II Syllabus consists of following parts :
Paper I :  Quantitative Ability
Paper II : English Language & Comprehension :
Paper III : Statistics for Investigator Grade-II, Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation & Compiler in RGI. 


Paper III covers the following topics : 
Collection Classification and Presentation of Statistical Data , Measures of Central Tendency- C , Measures of Dispersion, Moments, Skewness and Kurtosis, Correlation and Regression , Probability Theory , Random Variable and Probability Distributions , Sampling Theory, Statistical Inference , Analysis of Variance,Time Series Analysis , Index Numbers


Note : Paper I will be of 10th standard level, Paper II of 10+2 level and Paper III of graduation Level


CGL Tier III will constitute Personality Test cum Interview / Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)  / Document Verification for various posts.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has recently upload the SSC CGL 2014 Notification on its official website for the recruitment of various Group B and Group C posts. SSC invites Online application from eligible Candidates for appearing in SSC combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam 2014. Interested Candidates may apply Online through SSC Online portal from 18th January, 2014 to 14th February, 2014.

Eligibility Criteria for CGL Exam 2014 :

Age Limit : 
1. For Assistant/Sub Inspector in CBI post : Between 29 years to 27 years.
2. For Other posts : Between 18 years to 27 years.
3. Age Relaxation will be applicable as per the rules and it will be considered as on 01/01/2014.


Educational Qualification : Candidates should have done Bachelor's degree from a reputed University.


Application Fee : 
1. General/OBC Candidates would be required to pay Rs. 100/-
2. SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/women/Ex-Servicemen candidates are not required to pay any fee.


Note : Fees is to be deposited either through online or Offline mode, Candidates who want to pay through Offline mode, they need to pay through “Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)”only at Departmental Post offices and should be pasted on the application form and got cancelled at the Counter of Post Office of issue with the date stamp. Candidates who want to pay through Online mode, they need to pay  through SBI Challan or online account with SBI.


Selection process : Selection will be through Written Examination (Tier I and Tier II), Computer Proficiency Test, Skill Test and Interview.


How to Apply Online : Candidates are urged to follow the following steps in order to fill online application form of SSC CGL 2014 .
1. Kindly visit the SSC Online portal  www.ssconline.nic.in and www.ssconline2.gov.in
2. Navigate the "Examination" label and Click on "part I Registration ".
3. Enter your details in the relevant filed and click on "Submit" button.
4. Now part I registration is completed.
5. Now you will jump on Part II registration.
6. Now make payment and upload your scanned photograph and signature on the given space. 
7. Now enter the submit button and system will generate registration slip.
8. Kindly download the Slip and keep it for future use.

Eligibility for Asst Loco Pilot & Technician :


Educational Qualification : 

1. For Asst Loco Pilot, Candidates must have completed ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT from any recognized Institutions approved by AICTE. 
2. For Technician post , Candidates must be Intermediate/10+2 with Physics and Maths (Science) or 3 years Diploma in Engineering is also eligible.


Age Limit : Between 18 years to 30 years as on 01/07/2014. Age relaxation will be given 3 years for OBC category candidates, 5 years for SC/ ST category candidates and others as per Govt. rules.



Pay Scale : Rs. 5200 to Rs. 20,200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 1900

Chief Commissioner of Land Administration has uploaded AP VRO VRA Admit Card 2014 or VRO/VRA Hall Ticket 2014 on its official website for the candidates who have applied for VRO / VRA posts. Right now all the processes of online application are over and all applied candidates are preparing for the written exam.


Candidates can download the VRO VRA Admit card 2014 Online from the www.ccla.cgg.gov.in . The Hall ticket are available on official website. The Written Examination will be held on 02nd February, 2014 for recruitment of Village Revenue Officer (VRA) and Village Revenue Assistant (VRA) posts.


As per Notification, There are around 5962 vacancies of VRA, VRO post for which lac of candidates have been applied. So , only few days are left in Examination, Candidates are urged to download the AP VRO VRA Admit card  from the official website , so that they can freely make preparation for the Exam.


Details required to download the VRO VRA Hall Ticket 2014 :
1. Candidates should have their Candidate ID or Reference Id.
2. Candidates also have their Date of Birth.

Candidates may submit their application form before last date. Railway Recruitment Board is going to conduct the Assistant Loco Pilot Exam on 15th June, 2014. We all know that for any examination, Syllabus is must.

Asst Loco Pilot (ALP) Exam Pattern 2014 : 
Written Examination would have only a single Paper of 1½ hours duration and consists of objective type questions . There will be a total no. of 100 to 120 objective type questions with multiple answers. The question paper will be in English, Hindi , Urdu and Local Languages.


Important Marks : There shall be negative marking in written examination and marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer @1/3 of the marks allotted for each questions.

1) Mechanical : Dimensions, heat, engine, Thermo dynamics, energy, material, energy conservation, Management, Applied Mechanics, Turbo machinery, production engineering, automation engineering, kinetic theory, the strength of the material, Metallurgical, Metal Handling, refrigerators and air conditioned, Transformation of heat, etc. 

2) Automobile : machine design, system theory, IC engines, heat transfer, Thermo Dynamics, Materials Applying motion, the power plant turbines and boilers, and Metallurgical Production Technology , etc. 

3) Electrical : Electrical India, rolls, cables, transfers, proved to be the fundamental electrical system, an alternative system Single phase motor, three phase motor system, light, magnetism, motors, etc. directed
